The Story

A bald eagle emerging from the mist over the Chilkat River during the late salmon run. I had spent three days in sub-zero temperatures waiting for this bird to approach within range. When it came, it came fast — I had perhaps two seconds at this angle. 1/2000s at f/5.6 froze every feather.
